LATIN TRANSLATION APP?

Are you looking for a piece of software or an app that will translate into Latin for you? Something like Google Translate for Latin?

At the current time (September 2020) no such programme exists.

If you use a programme like Google Translate, or any other software that claims it can translate into or out of Latin, to translate anything into or out of Latin, you will get ungrammatical nonsense, and if you use it for a tattoo or something you will only end up embarrassing yourself.

If you want to translate something from Latin into another language, then you will either need to see if the text you are looking at has already been translated, pay someone to translate it for you, or learn Latin so that you can translate it yourself.

HOW DO I FIND A LATIN TRANSLATION THAT IS ACCURATE?

As a first step, if you are looking for a particular phrase, head over to books.google.com and copy in the text you are looking for. If it comes from a published Latin book, then google books will find it for you. If it is from a well known or ancient text, then it will have already been translated, and you will be able to find the translation.
